Marie the monkey is the story of one little monkey who is not quite like the others. She does not think the way that other animals in the zoo do. This story is using Marie and her different ways of thinking and responding to educate kids about autism in a way that they can understand. Marie is modeled after my non-verbal, autistic niece.
